IntroductionLatest News! "Zareba Padme's Rebel Princess of Red Earth" is in the building! click here. Red Earth Rhodesian Ridgebacks is a pack of two...well, five if you count the humans. We are located in a small town just west of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on 1.3 acres of land. There is a lot of room to run, and with all the rabbit/squirrel/fence chasing that goes on, the dogs stay in top condition and sleep like road kill .
Our first show dog was Tosca...(now CH Zareba Tosca Puccini Cayenne SC). She was just a little puppy when we picked her up...Densi thought she might like to show her, but we didn't realize how it would snowball into a show career, lure coursing, and raising puppies. After Tosca achieved her Championship, we chose CH Wyndrunhr Red Hot Chili as the sire of her first litter. You may see them on the Puppies 2001 page. Kuno was chosen as the sire of her second litter, in December, 2002. You may seem them on the Puppies 2003 page.
We routinely have all our show dogs x-rayed at the age of 24 months for Hip and Elbow Dysplasia. The x-rays are read by the Orthopedic Foundation For Animals (OFA) and the results are added to their open database. All our dogs have passed with the ratings of Good or Excellent. We have them tested for thyroid, eye disease and patellar luxation. They are also listed on the Canine Health Information Center.
